I am a warrior (for 23 minutes.)

July 18, 2007

My anxiety level lately has been at about a steady seven. As someone who was a 10+ for years, I’m thankful, but I live at a constant, oh, four most days… so this sucks.

To try to conquer it (and some calories) I did yoga this morning via Namaste Yoga on FitTV. It was hard! And I was hot, and almost sweaty, and my muscles were working. I probably burned bonus calories audibly laughing at myself, too, and, of course, picking myself up off the ground a few times. It will clearly take practice.

I don’t know that it will be an effective method of long-term anxiety control, but it kept my mind on something else for almost a solid half-hour–even if I didn’t know what to do during commercials…

I feel like I would need to take a regular class to ever feel good about/at it? But I’m still at the “I feel too fat to exercise in public” stage.
